Important Note for Silverline UK Ltd water filter customers
Customers using all types of our water filters, including our range of Under Counter Filters, Cartridge Systems and Water Softeners (fed by municipal water in the areas affected), should note that these systems are NOT designed to remove bacteria from water, including the criptosporidium bug. Therefore all advice by the proper authorities should be followed, including water that has passed through your water filter. Two types of system we manufacture that are designed to remove bacteria as follows:
Reverse Osmosis
Customers using our Reverse Osmosis filter systems please note that the bug should be removed from water processed by the RO Membrane, providing installation is correct, however we would also advise customers to ensure the filter elements of their system are up to date for replacements.
Ultraviolet Systems
Customers using our UV sterilization systems, please be advised that the bug should be removed in water that has passed through the UV, providing the installation is correct, the lamp(s) used have been replaced within the last 6 months (useful life), they have been powered at all times, and that the flow rate specified for your model is not exceeded at any time.
If in any doubt please contact us for advice, but we would recommend you follow the proper water authority guidelines in all cases.
Silverline UK Ltd cannot be held responsible for any illness resulting from water consumption via any of our products, as a result of the criptosporidium outbreak described above.
